Decisions, Meetings, Handwriting and Visit

Dear Parents and Carers,
It was good to see so many parents attend the parent consultations this week. If you were not able to attend, please speak to your child’s class teacher to arrange a time to meet with them. During the parent consultations we received lots of positive feedback from parents which is great to hear and reflects our constant work to provide all that we can for our children.
Our catering team also had lots of positive comments made about the ‘tasters’ they provided. These enabled children and parents to taste samples of food we are serving this half term.
On Tuesday of this week members of our Worship Group had an enjoyable and valuable visit to Chelmsford Cathedral. They took part in various activities along with children from all the other schools in our multi academy trust.
Do you want to help make decisions about your school for your children? Do you want to find out more about all the things the school does for your child? If so then you should consider being one of our governors. Our governors play a key role in making decisions, supporting the school and holding the school to account. The commitment to be a governor involves attending a meeting each half term and undertaking visits to the school, up to one a term. If you are interested in supporting your school in this way, please speak to myself or Miss Fairbairn.
This week we have started to introduce our new resources and approach for teaching handwriting. This is called letter join and will help our children write neatly and, with practice, quickly. We will be providing more information to parents about this during the next few weeks. In the meantime parents are welcome to visit the letter join website.
Next week we will continue to sell Poppies and other Royal British Legion items. A suggested price list is attached to the newsletter.
