Attendance Celebrations & Online Safety

Dear Parents and Carers,
We come to the end of another busy and positive term. We have much to be pleased about and to celebrate in regard to what children are learning. We also need to celebrate the very positive judgements made by the quality assurance review team this term.
We held our special termly attendance worship this morning. It was great that almost half the children in school had a certificate and a ‘sweet treat’, Easter egg, as a reward for attending school for at least 98% of this term—many enjoyed eating their Easter egg at break time!! It was also good to have so many children achieve a bronze attendance reward for 100% attendance this term and so many children achieve a silver attendance reward for 100% attendance for this term and last term. The children seemed very motivated to ensure that they have really good attendance next term.
This week we have supported some children and parents in regard to staying safe online. It maybe the case that when some online games, such as Fornite and Roblox, are played in ‘party’ mode then there are adults deliberately playing with children and trying to build a rapport with them whilst pretending to be children. We encourage all parents to use parent controls and other strategies for keeping their children safe whilst playing online. The safeguarding page on our website has useful information about keeping children safe.http://www.st-osyth.essex.sch.uk/our-parents/safeguarding/
Team of the term was Oak; well done to all the children in Oak team. They enjoyed watching Paddington 2!!

Best wishes,
Mr M Carter-Tufnell
