Half-term, meetings and competition

Dear Parents and Carers,
I think everyone is looking forward to a well earned break after working hard and trying their best for the last 7 weeks. I hope that all the children have time to recharge, rest and have some fun – hopefully the weather will be kind.
There is plenty of excitement planned for the next half term, but first I would like to remind you that 30th October is a non-pupil day. The children’s first day back will be 31st October. Don’t forget that Tuesday 31st is also the first of our parents’ consultation evenings. The second, later session, is Wednesday 1st November.
Coming home today the KS1 children will be bringing invitations to their ‘Romp in the Swamp’. Each session will be held in a class PE lesson during the second week back after the half term break. The children will be performing their Dinosaur dances and song.
You should also find in the children’s book bags a flyer about an ‘Advent Calendar Competition’. There will, of course, be prizes for the winners. The aim is to produce a huge advent calendar in the school hall and have the children open a window during worship daily. Please can the pictures be no bigger than A5 (half the size of this newsletter) and the name and class be clearly on the back.
After half-term we will be selling Poppies and other Royal British Legion items.

Yours faithfully,

A J E Fairbairn

Deputy Head
